Frequently Asked Questions

Submissions & Peer Review
How do I submit a paper to IJES or IJSES?
Submit your manuscript via the Author Portal at www.indiastatjournals.in/submit. You will need to register as an author, complete the manuscript submission form, upload your paper (Word format), and sign the Declaration Form. Submissions are accepted year-round. Please ensure your paper follows the Author Guidelines — APA 7th Edition citations, EB Garamond or Times New Roman 12pt, double-spaced, with a structured abstract of 150–250 words.
What is the peer review process and timeline?
Both IJES and IJSES follow a peer review process, meaning the reviewer and author identities are concealed from each other. Each manuscript is reviewed by a minimum of two independent subject-matter experts. The typical timeline is: initial editorial screening (5–7 days) → reviewer assignment (7–10 days) → review period (30 days) → decision communicated to author. Total: approximately 8–10 weeks from submission to first decision.
Is there a submission fee or Article Processing Charge (APC)?
There is no submission fee for either journal. Authors from India and internationally may submit without any charges. There is currently no Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in IJES or IJSES. The journals are subscription-funded, following a hybrid access model.
Can I track the status of my submitted paper?
Yes. Once you submit a manuscript, you receive a unique submission reference number (e.g., IJES-2026-018). You can track your paper's status — Submitted → Under Review → Revision → Accepted → Published — via the Author Portal. You will also receive email updates at each stage. For queries, contact editors@indiastatjournals.in with your reference number.
Subscriptions & Access
How do I subscribe to IJES or IJSES?
You can subscribe via three routes: (1) Online: visit www.indiastat.com/Subscriber.aspx and pay by credit/debit card, UPI, or net banking; (2) NEFT/Bank Transfer: transfer to Datanet India Pvt Ltd, Union Bank of India, A/C 319501010036200, IFSC UBIN0531952, and email payment proof to subscriptions@indiastatjournals.in; (3) Cheque/DD in favour of "Datanet India Pvt. Ltd." sent to Delhi or Mumbai office. Subscription commences from the issue following payment receipt.
What is the difference between Print, Digital, and Print+Digital editions?
Print Edition: Physical journal copies mailed to your address quarterly. Digital Edition: Full online HTML and PDF access to all articles, plus eFlipbook access. 18% GST applicable additionally for Indian subscribers. Print + Digital: Both physical and digital access combined. For institutions, Digital/Print+Digital also includes IP-based campus-wide access and usage reports.
Can my institution get access for all campus users simultaneously?
Yes. Institutional subscriptions include IP-range-based authentication — any user accessing the journal from within your campus network gets full access automatically without individual login. You can register multiple IP ranges and subnets. Institutions also receive named user accounts for off-campus access. Contact libraries@indiastatjournals.in for details and proforma invoice.
Is the eFlipbook free?
Yes. The eFlipbook version of each issue is available to all registered users free of charge. Simply register at www.indiastatjournals.in with your email and institution. The eFlipbook gives you the experience of flipping through the journal digitally. For full-text HTML and PDF downloads of individual articles, a subscription is required.
Payment & Invoices
Can I get a GST invoice for my subscription?
Yes. GST-compliant tax invoices are issued for all subscriptions. For Indian subscribers, 18% GST is applicable on Digital and Print+Digital editions. Institutional subscribers can request a Proforma Invoice for budget approval before making payment — email subscriptions@indiastatjournals.in with your institution name, GSTIN (if applicable), and subscription requirements.
How do I request a proforma invoice?
Email subscriptions@indiastatjournals.in with your institution name, contact details, GSTIN, and the plan you require. A proforma invoice (PI) will be issued within one working day, which you can use for institutional purchase order and finance approval. Once payment is made, a final GST invoice will be issued.
Technical & Access Issues
I cannot access articles. What should I do?
First, verify that your subscription is active and that you are accessing from an IP address within your registered range (for institutional subscribers), or that you are logged in with your registered email. If the issue persists, email tech@indiastatjournals.in with: your name, email, institution, the IP address you are accessing from, and a screenshot of the error. Technical issues are typically resolved within 4–8 hours.
How do I reset my password?
Click "Forgot Password" on the login page and enter your registered email address. An OTP will be sent to reset your password. If you do not receive the OTP within 5 minutes, check your spam folder or email tech@indiastatjournals.in for manual assistance.
How do I get MARC records, KBART files, or COUNTER reports?
Institutional subscribers receive access to MARC 21 bibliographic records, KBART Phase II title lists, OpenURL resolver configuration guides, and COUNTER 5 usage reports (DR, TR, PR) through the Librarian Portal. Log in to your librarian account at www.indiastatjournals.in/librarian or email libraries@indiastatjournals.in to request these resources.
Reviewers & Editorial Board
How can I register as a peer reviewer?
If you are an academic, researcher, or practitioner with expertise in electoral studies, political science, socio-economic policy, or related fields, you are welcome to register as a reviewer. Visit the Reviewer Portal at www.indiastatjournals.in/reviewer or email editors@indiastatjournals.in with your CV, area of expertise, and journal preference (IJES, IJSES, or both). Reviewers receive recognition in each issue and complimentary access to both journals.
What are the benefits of being a reviewer?
Reviewers for indiastat journals receive: (1) complimentary individual digital access to both IJES and IJSES for the review year; (2) acknowledgement in every issue they review for; (3) a formal reviewer certificate annually; (4) first access to newly published issues; and (5) recognition in the journal's Reviewers' Panel list on the website.
